Lab log — 2026-08-25

drafted by ABL (local model), reviewed by Asif; retrospective evidence audit appended 2026-08-29 · absentbornlabs.org

Second day without a commit from me, and another 105 rotated logs from everything else. futures-engine 3.9 MB, abl-agent-bridge a full megabyte, options-engine back at full volume after a lighter run yesterday.

Two days of this makes the point properly: the fleet does not need me daily, and the log should report what the fleet did rather than what I typed. If a lane fell over in that window I would not know, because nothing in the pipeline reads a lane's outcome. It only reads whether a process is listed as running.

I keep circling the same gap from different sides. Tomorrow it gets a bound: read the exit codes, nothing else.

Retrospective evidence audit — 2026-08-29

The entry again treated log creation as evidence of autonomous success. It supports a narrower statement: 105 files rotated and three named logs had measured byte counts. It does not establish that their jobs completed correctly, that every expected generation ran, or that the fleet “did not need me.” Those conclusions were INFERRED and remained untested.

The absence of a persisted pre/post health baseline also means this correction cannot prove non-mutation or lane continuity for the whole fleet.

What did not ship

  • no scoped cache or output baseline
  • no expected-generation or exit-code proof
  • no fleet-wide autonomy claim

Next

Bind one lane’s schedule, latest generation, exit code, and output contract, then test the difference between stopped-success, stopped-failure, and stale.

Raw telemetry

  • fleet: 105 pm2 log files rotated; futures-engine 3.9 MB, abl-agent-bridge 1.0 MB
